You may be eligible for free vaccines
Many vaccines are free through the National Immunisation Program for people with a Medicare card. There's no fee for these at Byford Pharmacy. If a vaccine isn't free for you, we'll tell you the cost before your appointment.
Shingles
Free for people 65 and over, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 50 and over, and some people with weakened immune systems
Pneumococcal
Free for people 65 and over, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 25 and over, and adults with certain medical conditions
RSV
Free for people 75 and over, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 60 and over, and during pregnancy (28–36 weeks)
Whooping cough
Free during each pregnancy
Catch-up vaccines
Free for people under 20 who missed childhood vaccines, and HPV up to age 25

Flu (influenza)
Yearly protection, recommended for everyone from 6 months. We vaccinate from 2 years of age.
COVID-19
Recommended boosters based on your age and health.
Whooping cough, diphtheria and tetanus
Recommended in every pregnancy, and for grandparents and carers of new babies.
Shingles
Two-dose vaccine to protect against shingles and its complications.
Pneumococcal
Protection against pneumonia and other serious pneumococcal infections.
RSV
Protection against respiratory syncytial virus for older adults and during pregnancy.
Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR)
Check you're protected, especially before travelling.
Chickenpox (varicella)
For people who haven't had chickenpox or the vaccine.
Meningococcal
Protection against meningococcal disease.
HPV
Protection against human papillomavirus. Free up to age 25.
Hepatitis B
Protection against hepatitis B for people who aren't immune.

Boosters for adults who need them.

Good to know
Younger children
We vaccinate children from 2 years for flu and from 5 years for other vaccines. For babies and younger children, see your GP or local child health clinic.
Travel vaccines
We don't currently offer hepatitis A, typhoid or other travel-specific vaccines. See your GP or a travel clinic.
